New East West Academy is seeking a versatile and creative Art Teacher to lead our K-8 students. We are looking for an educator who respects the foundations of traditional fine art but is also excited by the possibilities of digital tools and AI-integrated creativity.

Our goal is to provide students with a comprehensive artistic education that prepares them for the modern era, balancing classical skill with technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Traditional Instruction: Teach foundational skills in drawing, sketching, perspective, and painting (watercolors/acrylics).
• Digital & Modern Art: Introduce students to digital platforms (such as Procreate or Adobe Suite) and discuss the role of AI in modern art and design.
• Curriculum Development: Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that bridge the gap between physical and digital mediums.
• Exhibition & Competition: Prepare and guide students for art competitions and organize seasonal showcases of student work.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-energy studio environment that fosters self-expression.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Strong portfolio in both traditional painting/drawing and digital art.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Teaching Experience: Proven ability to work with students across the K-8 spectrum.
• Modern Mindset: Familiarity with current art trends, including digital design and the emerging “AI Era” in the arts.
• Availability: Must be able to work after-school hours and weekends.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills with both students and parents.
• Ability to adapt teaching styles for different age groups (elementary through middle school).
• Proficient in lesson planning and curriculum development.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles through art.
